A murder of skulls

Well I guess that would be the collective noun?

Give me a sign

CFPR asked me to make them a little more visible within the campus so I gave them a sign...

Go forth and multiplied

Today I checked out the Multiplied Art Fair in South Kensington which was packed with contemporary printmaking. As I was up in London I also popped into the Art of Making exhibition that had lots of examples of Rapid Prototyping. I then went to the Postmodernism exhibition in the V&A and The shape of things to come: New sculpture at the Saatchi Gallery.

'Text'ured Wallpaper

I have been working with Carinna Parraman on The Wallpaper Project, a research project in collaboration with Roland DG (UK) Ltd. With my wallpaper I wanted to utilise the ability to build up layers of both white ink and clear matt varnish to create texture. After numerous tests using different layering combinations we settled on a winning formula made up of 25 layers.

Playing with the idea of text creating texture and with a lighthearted nod to the trend that was so popular in the 60's and 70's the words for me could only really come from one place, classic Bond, and more specifically Roger Moore 'Bond' (the ultimate Bond) so the theme tune to the spy who loved me seemed very fitting.

The Proof is in the Printing

Last week I helped proof some of Tom Lomax's work

From 11th - 13th July I assisted CFPR with their Inkjet and Laser Cutting for Arts and Crafts CPD course (for further information.) This gave me an great opportunity to utilise the skills I have learnt during my internship printing from both the Epsom and HP wide format printers and using the laser cutters.
